This unique designs combines the Celtic Tree of Life with the Goddess Triad. Like most cultures, the Celtic had a triad of goddesses. The Maiden, Mother, and Crone represented the three stages of life. (Birth,death, and rebirth) Trees also represented life. The Celtic Tree of Life is a symbol of the individual who takes sustenance from its Mother Earth and reaches for the heavens in a remarkable journey of evolution toward the infinite. Almsot all trees had sacred associations. Fruit trees, especially apples, were reguarded as having their own personalities and were often protected by fairies or spirits. "Knocking on wood" was a means od calling forth the tree spirits for protection. |
